Rape after calling the young woman around, the young man in jail

Police have arrested a young man on charges of raping a young woman in Sherpur's Jhenaigati Upazila. He was sent to jail by the court on Friday afternoon.

Md. Arrested. Azad's home is in Haldibata village of the upazila.

According to the police and case statement, the victim is physically handicapped. His elder sister got married near Azad's house. He got acquainted with Azad due to his comings and goings there. Azad called him on Thursday evening. Then he took her around in different places by autorickshaw. Azad took the girl to his house around 10 pm. There he was raped. He then left the girl near his house at around 1 am and fled.
