The app will control the price of oil
AHM Shafiquzzaman, director general of the National Consumer Protection Department, said, Irregularities are taking place in the edible oil market in each of the four levels. Consumers are having a hard time with this. The whole edible oil market of Bangladesh is being controlled from Khatunganj in Chittagong and Moulvibazar in Dhaka. We are breaking the impact of those two markets.
Now a community can buy a truck directly from the oil refinery if they want. This will close the four levels of sales (importer / refinery, dealer, wholesale and retail), as well as stop irregularities. ‘
He said this at an exchange meeting with importers, wholesalers and retailers at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of Chittagong Chamber on Saturday.
Addressing traders, Shafiquzzaman said, "We have lifted tariffs on edible oil and fixed prices to reduce unrest. But before the tariff is lifted, we are trying to find out who caused the market turmoil. We were told that the tariff oil did not come to market. But we found out that one lakh tons of oil has entered the market. As a result, there was a lack of information. We are doing an apps to overcome this deficit. Where there will be real time data. As part of this we will go to Chittagong Customs today (Sunday). Then I will sit in Chittagong port. We will see who imported the amount of edible oil before and after the withdrawal of duty. And we will get the correct account of imported oil through apps. ‘
He said with an example, a ship of edible oil came in the Bay of Bengal and some traders stopped it for two or four days and increased the price of oil by 10-20 rupees, such activities will be stopped through apps. This will account for everything from ship arrivals to customs clearance, port clearance, refinery refining and refined oil entering the market.
Many of the businessmen at the event criticized the mobile court. Simultaneously fines through multiple organizations
Demand to stop the collection. In reply, Shafiquzzaman said, "The traders present assured me that they would sell the oil at the price fixed by the government." I will stop the campaign from tomorrow. Mobile courts are being run to find irregularities at four levels. We went to four markets and saw one party blaming the other. For this we want to go for a solution. We will make an app, through which we will get the correct update information. ‘
Chittagong Chamber President Mahbubul Alam said if the duty level was adjusted, imports would increase and the current crisis would be resolved. Instructions can be given three to six months before Eid by exchanging views with the people concerned. In all cases of wholesale and retail, the list of purchase and sale price should be published and the price difference between the two should be determined logically. Everyone including traders and administration should cooperate with the government to keep the transportation of goods uninterrupted.
Syed Mohammad Tanvir, vice-president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the prices of consumer goods could be kept stable and within the purchasing power of the common man during the holy month of Ramadan by monitoring the market situation with the concerted efforts of all.
